Description
CIVIL WAR ERA EPHEMERA, LOT OF SIX, comprising an original edition of the sheet music for "(I Wish I Was In) Dixie's Land" by Dan. D. Emmett, published by Firth, Pond & Co., 1860; a Stars & Stripes lyrics sheet for a song titled "Our Country," to be song to the tune of "Dixey's Land" (sic); a hand-written transcription of the poem "Youth and Old Age; an Allegory" by Seba Smith; a page of Harper's Weekly March 9, 1861 edition, featuring a four-panel political cartoon titled "THE FLIGHT OF ABRAHAM" and depicting his reaction to an alleged plot to assassinate him in the city of Baltimore; a page of The Illustrated London News, December 27, 1862 edition, with two images, the first captioned "Recruiting in New York: The Irish Zouaves." and the second captioned "Fort Lafayette, The Federal Bastille for Political Prisoners." with descriptions of the images on the obverse; and a map from the "Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies" titled "TOPOGRAPHY / OF THE / BATTLE-FIELD / OF / CROSS KEYS, VA." matted and framed under glass. 19th century. Map 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" sight, 10 1/4" x 10 1/4" OA.

Condition
Overall in good condition, with some slight creases, expected minor staining and edge/corner wear; map unstained and without visible damage, except likely original crease down the center, and cut down to size slightly large than visible image; "Dixie's Land" sheet music with a water stain along the bottom edges of the pages, with a 1/2" tear to the cover page in the water stain, and some minor losses along the binding edge; the Harper's Weekly example with tears and losses along bottom edge and one side; the remainder very good overall, with aforementioned minor issues.
