FINE PAIR OF FRENCH NEEDLEWORK PICTURES, silk threads on a silk ground with watercolor embellishments, each depicting an allegorical scene with figures and a ship in the background. In appropriate, possibly original gilded and molded wooden frames. First quarter 19th century. 22 1/2" x 16" sight, 26 1/2" x 20" OA.

Provenance: Property of an Albemarle Co. family.

Condition

Outstanding condition with strong colors, no visible losses or deterioration. Not examined out of frames.
