Description

AMERICAN FEDERAL MAHOGANY AND EGLOMISE BANJO CLOCK, featuring painted sheet-iron / zinc dial with Roman numerals, pierced brass sidearms, reverse-painted tablets, lower example depicting "Constitution's Escape", and carved gilt-decorated elements throughout, including faux bracket shelf base. Pine secondary wood. Retains old, possibly original, turned finial with gilt surface. Probably Willard family or E. Howard Clock Co. Early 19th century. 39 3/4" LOA.

Provenance: From a private Loudoun Co., VA collection.

Condition

Wear and possible restoration to reverse-painted tablets and gilt-decorated elements. Brass sidearms loose. Lacking weight, works not examined, unknown working condition.
