Description
CURRIER AND IVES GENRE PRINTS, LOT OF THREE, chromolithographs on paper, large folio, each with what appear to be full margins, one titled "Waking Up The Old Mare" and the other titled "The Old Mare The Best Horse". Together with a racing print titled "The Celebrated Trotting Horse Hopeful". Each after an original by artist Scott Leighton. Old Mare examples housed under glass in late-19th century oak frames. Other example housed under glass in an old gold-painted frame. Three pieces total. Circa 1881. Old Mare examples 15 5/8" x 23 5/8" image, 26 1/2" x 34 1/4" OA.

As-found condition with moderate to significant areas of toning, foxing and staining overall. Hopeful in poor condition with significant toning, foxing, staining, and areas of loss. Not examined out of frames.
