(1725 - 1807) French Marshall who commanded French forces sent to aid the Americans in the Revolutionary War. With Washington, he was essential in the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown. A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., [n.p., n.d.], ca. 1790, in French. Largely untranslated but apparently setting forth instructions for a financial transaction.Boldly penned and signed, and in fine condition: a fine example for display.
