(FAR EAST) THOMAS HORSFIELD AND THE EAST INDIA COMPANY MUSEUM
THOMAS HORSFIELD (1773 - 1859) American physician and naturalist who worked extensively in Indonesia, describing numerous species of plants and animals from the region. He was later a curator of the East India Company Museum in London. Pair of signed books "A Catalogue of the Birds in the Museum of the Hon. East-India Company", by Thomas Horsfield and Frederic Moore, two volumes, (London: W. H. Allen and Co.), 1854. Two volumes in good condition, both volumes inscribed by the author.
