Item Details
Description
1st item: Large cloisonne enamel "peacock" teapot or ewer with peacock head spout and gilt finial in the form of a peacock with spread wings; the baluster form body with scalloped rim and gilt ringed neck, and scrolled handle. The body is decorated with enameled lotus and peacock designs with cartouches depicting birds encircling the widest portion. 15"H. Chinese, circa 1982. Provenance: acquired by the consignor at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville. 2nd item: Cloisonne plate with scalloped rim, enameled with design of four cranes in a landscape with mountains, sea and prunus branches. 9" diameter. Probably Japanese, early 20th century.
Condition
Slight bend to finial on teapot, otherwise excellent condition. Plate has some wear to exterior metal edge, enamel has some light minor pitting.
