Description:4-page folio, printed in first page and filled out in ink, with printed docketing on p.2, and ms. docketing on p.4. Paper seal affixed at left, with Governor Levi Lincoln's signature below. 16¾x10. During his long Congressional service, Daniel Webster found time to serve as Justice of the Peace, perhaps seeing it as a way to stay in touch with his constituents, or perhaps he simply needed the money. Levi Lincoln served governor of Massachusetts from 1825 to 1834, at which time he entered the U.S. House of Representatives.
