Description
A large red-ware shallow bowl from Roman Egypt, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, of thick construction, the center of the vessel with five impressed stars, each within a flat circle. The vessel sits on a tall ring foot and has a vertical rim. A large and very attractive vessel! Dia: 11 in (29.1 cm). Restored from four sherds. The red-orange slip well preserved with light earthen deposits throughout. Ex Orange County private collection.
