1971-72 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Championship Ring Presented to Herb Ralby. After being billed as a heavy favorite to capture the Stanley Cup during the 1970-71 season, the defending Champion Boston Bruins were stunned in the quarterfinals of the playoffs when they fell to the Montreal Canadiens in seven games. From that bitter disappointment the Bruins entered the 1971-72 season more determined than ever to regain ownership of Lord Stanley's fabled cup, and once again superstars Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and Johnny Bucyk found themselves at the top of the NHL scoring list. By the time the final buzzer of the season sounded, the Bruins had to hire a truck to cart away all the hardware earned: the Stanley Cup, the Art Ross Trophy (Esposito), the Conn Smythe Trophy (Orr), the Hart Memorial Trophy (Orr) and the James Norris Memorial Trophy (Orr).

While there is little to no hope for collectors of getting hold of the aforementioned treasures, we proudly offer the opportunity to celebrate that special time in Boston with the presented lot, the Championship ring issued to legendary Bruins PR man Herb Ralby. The fourteen karat (14k) gold beauty is effectively identical to those on the fingers of the legendary players who brought joy to Boston Garden, showcasing nine full-cut diamonds on the face (1.10 carat total) sandwiched between the words "Boston Bruins World Champions."  

Left shank reports the presentee's name above a miniature Prince of Wales Trophy and the engraved text, "League Champions."  Right shank supplies the historic vintage above a miniature Stanley Cup and engraved text announcing, "Stanley Cup Champions, Boston 4 - N.Y. 2."  Interior band measures to a size 10.75 and is stamped "Balfour 14K."  Ring exhibits proud wear but presents marvelously, as our catalog imagery should convey.
