Description
Alexander Flores (Mexican, 20th century). "Atlante", polychromed ceramic, edition 1/100, signed and numbered to side of foot. A vibrantly painted sculptural pedestal in the form of human legs, the form with two blue legs and feet standing square and decorated with raised fields of textured light blue, the waist and hip area with figural elements in relief similar in form and decoration to the work of Sergio Bustamante (Mexican, b.1942) with suns, fish, seahorses, and snakes bearing human faces, a loincloth to front and back with a sun in front and a moon in back, the top of structure of trefoil form with curved edges. Artist studio label to underside, also with hand written label with title and price. Approximately 16.5" tall x 14" wide x 8.25" deep.
