RARE PAIR OF MAINE-MADE BRASS WHALE OIL LAMPS - Brass Lamps made circa 1830 by William Webb, a master brass maker in Warren, Maine, who operated his foundry there from 1805-1843. Retaining the original burners, with lemon shaped banded fonts, ring and urn turned shafts and circular stepped bases, both having the original fire gilding remaining on the underside, stamped W-E-B-B around the ferrule, one with a paper label 'Bourne, 7/12/88'. 8" tall, 3 3/4" diam. Very good condition, in what appears to be an untouched patina.
