RARE CHAMPION YACHT HULL TEST MODEL - Davidson Laboratory Water Tank Test Model for the Philip Leonard Rhodes (1895–1974) designed 12 metre wooden hulled Racing Yacht "Weatherly" (US17), winner of the 1962 America's Cup. Model hull test no 2022. Rendered in pine, with inked grids, applied sand on leading edge of keel, keel alterations infilled. 62" long. A piece of yachting history. Fine condition. The Davidson Lab at the Stevens Institute in Hoboken, New Jersey was the primary towing tank for designers testing new hull designs.
