The following treasure is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford; noted dealers and lifelong collectors of exceptional antique & vintage heirlooms, This lot presents a Blue Bird Salesman Sample/Toy Stove by Grey Iron This style stove came in a few different size configurations and color schemes. This is the Med sized model at about 8" across the front. combo wood gas stove with all 4 burner covers, 4 gas grates + large oven door + 2 riser shelf dampered doors. They date from the 1920's or so. The maker, Grey Casting from PA, is still in business making cast iron toys and other pieces. These stoves are typically found with significant paint and rust issues. This particular item is in excellent condition compared with others that I have found online. ***** Weight: 4# - Measurements: 8 x 4.75 x 10.5 ***** In the 19th and early 20th Centuries, salesmen commonly carried model replicas of items that were not easily transportable, such as canoes, farm equipment and appliances.
