These nine drawings originate presumably from the Chinese caricaturist Hua Junwu (1915-2012) from the 1980s or 1990s. They depict humoristic images of illustrative cartoon character that are combined with satirical inscriptions of Chinese daily life. Dynamic contours in black ink give shape to the figures. This strong brushwork is typical of Hua Junwu, one of the most famous contemporary caricaturists of China.
Each of the nine drawings bears a red seal stamp and inscriptions. The sheets are creased, have got each a horizontal folding line along the center and three of the sheets display regular foxing. Three relocation documents are part of the convolute. The dimensions of the sheets are max. 27 x 19 cm. (tm)
