Description
Glazed Ceramic. China, Han-Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)
Extraordinarily well-preserved black-brown glaze! Tall, elongated form with a high conical foot, a tall neck with a vaguely flared, wide mouth. Numerous ribs on the body as well as two taotie masks featuring rings. Beautiful deep colour tone of the glaze with faint traces of weathering, but very clear on the unglazed bottom with large indentations from firing stilts. These vessels functioned as burial objects.
