This grey jug from the Westerwald consists of grey salt glazed earthenware and a finely chiselled pewter lid. Countless floral elements in cobalt blue and manganese violet decorate the walls of the jug. There is a German saying on the front Seid ihr vereint zur frohen Stunde fehl nie der Bierkrug in der Runde. [May the beer jug not be missing when you come together for a celebration]

The jug is in good condition with slight age-related signs of wear and use; minimal repairs; small scuffs; crack on the spout and abrasion. The jug shows a number underneath 612. It is 37 cm high.
