Description

Mary Aitken and William Parker, et al. for Doulton Lambeth, table lamp base, #479, London, England, 1881, polychrome glazed stoneware, signed, dated, numbered, stoneware: 8"dia x 16.5"h

Condition

Of elongated ovoid form with geometric and stylized foliate decoration and a band of applied flowering vines. Appears to be in overall good condition with a few minor chips to applied leaves. Likely originally a vase, adapted to be a lamp. With some crazing to top and some inpainting where base joins top of hardware. Drilled at back for cord.
