Description
Pre-Columbian, western Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. Pottery double flute of long tubular construction, twin mouthpieces and each side with 4 pitch or key holes. Top of flute is decorated with twin slithering snakes with deep drilled eyes and slit mouths. Size: 11-7/8"L (30,2cm). Stand not included.
Provenance: Ex-F. McDonald collection acquired in Houston between 1990 and 1995.
