Pair of Large Bronze Marli Horses, 19th c., presented on bronze mounted ebonized Boulle inlaid stepped plinths, Bronzes- H.- 23 1/2 in., W.- 19 1/4 in., D.- 8 1/2 in., Plinths- H.- 9 in., W.- 23 3/8 in., D.- 12 3/8 in., Total- H.- 32 1/2 in., W.- 23 3/8 in., D.- 12 3/8 in.

Condition consistent with age and use. Bases are observed with a mild patina. A few areas of the brass inlay are observed as slightly raised, with a circular loss to inlay seen at one end of one base. An approximately 6 inch vertical hairline fracture is seen to the side of one base, with small cracks seen throughout Boulle. A few flea-sized losses are observed, mostly along the edges, with scattered spots of minor bubbling to Boulle noted. The tail of one horse is seen with a fracture near the top - it is now re-attached but slightly loose. The figure beside the same horse is observed with residue beside and under his feet, with one foot showing a slight gap between the impression of the foot on the base and the foot itself. Reins are split on both. Some minor oxidation is observed to the undersides of the horses. A handsome pair. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
