Wood carved, Chinese polychrome lacquered paint (certified) ca 1800 measures approx 48" x 48" x 18" - Figure of a Song Dynasty General (possibly Yue Fei) heavily armored riding his stead carrying his Dragon shield and large Yang weapon. Armored with a heavy dragon belt, beast head shoulders, double disc breast plates, possibly mountain pattern large scale armor on arms and legs - circle pattern vambrance (forearm guard) heavily gilded, with large approx 3" x 3" green Chinese mark on base. Professionally conserved. Provenance: Private Santa Barbara Collection
