Description
Height - 12.5 inches. The vase with a double peacock feather motif in a vellum glaze is in excellent condition. The Rookwood hallmark is impressed on the bottom with 14 flames, (1900) and the number 192 BZ. Signed A. A. Valentien in blue glaze. The names Albert and Anna Marie Bookprinter Valentien worked for the Rookwood pottery company in Cincinnati. The husband and wife team were decorators there. In 1908 a commission required Albert Valentien to travel to San Diego, California for a commission piece where they settled and formed their own art pottery company called Valentien.
