Description

Lg. Asian Bronze Urn. Bulbous urn form with intricate floral, filigree side handles and figural oriental pheasants, the body of the urn has heavy relief decorated panels with oriental pheasants in blossoming cherry trees beside a pond on the front and storks flying over and standing in a pond on the back, the top resembles a mound with leaves, branches and a figural dragon. The base has a round plinth form with 5 standing Asian figures supporting the urn on their backs. In good condition with no visible breaks, repairs or dings, has a gilt finish with light brown patina highlights. The top has a stem with under cap and top cap, possibly top support a perfume burner (not original); the top of the mound has a large pair of talons with 2 holes where a large figure of a bird should top the lamp, bird is missing. 21.5 in. high x 15 in. wide x 11 in. dia. Weight: 31.75 lbs.
