A fisherman standing in a row boat raised up on a wave, he is embraced by a mermaid and entwined in a fishing net, a second mermaid emerges from the waves behind the boat which is decorated with applied flowers, fruit and filigree; the man’s purple garment wraps around his body and rises up supporting the large bowl top. 15 in. dia. pierced decorated bowl has painted flowers in the interior with pink and green pastel rococo designs in the exterior highlighted with applied clusters of flowers, fruit and filigree. Faint illegible blue mark under the glaze, in good overall condition, has a few stress hairlines centered in the body of the boat, no breaks or repairs to the figures, typical losses to the applied flowers and filigree. 29 in. high.
