Description
Pre-Columbian, Honduras, Ulua Valley, ca. 550 to 850 CE. A fine pottery cylinder vase in bright orange, red and black, the vessel itself molded in the form of a gourd, perhaps in the pumpkin family. Along top and bottom of this fine jar is a band of pseudo glyphs in the form of elaborate human heads. A very fine vessel! Size: 7-1/4"H x 5-1/2" in diameter.
Provenance: Ex-private P. Davis collection acquired via descent between 1985 and 1995
