Compiled by L. Olive Prescott, Ipswich Jan. 1864 through Jan. 1900 in an 8vo notebook in marbled boards with black leather spine. Inked and penciled manuscript, beginning with the death of her brother in Dec. of 1863. This manuscript covers the Todd, Jewett, and Prescott family’s from the northeast part of Massachusetts, beginning with John Todd (Northern England and Scot origin of this surname) , born 1688 who married Elizabeth Brocklebank (the name is of Yorkshire origin) in 1715 and had 10 children. Later lists Benjamin Todd of Rowley, grandson or great grandson of John, born in 1744, who married Elizabeth. Most of this book was compiled in the 1860’s and 70’s with some later additions of deaths in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Over a hundred names listed, with births, marriages, divorces, number of offspring and their names, maiden names of wives, town in which they lived and often cause of death. A few of the other surnames include Shoemaker, Bradford, Pickard, Story, Mighill, Smith, Patter, Palmes, and many others. Approx. half of the book is filled with this manuscript genealogy.
