A BARKER BROTHERS SILVER PLATED CIRCULAR FOOTED SALVER, of pie crust shape with sinuous floral surface etched detailed border enclosing engraved "C" scrolls, foliage, and palmette decoration, reversing to an underside with "E" "P" triple star shamrock "N" "S" hallmarks over "12213," raised on three rocaille feet. NOTE: Barker Brothers was established in Birmingham, England, in 1801, and maintained a London showroom throughout the early part of the 20th Century. In 1931, the firm merged with Ellis & Co (Birmingham) Ltd, an established manufacturer of silverplated and electroplated wares. The merger produced today's highly regarded Barker Ellis Silver Co Ltd.
