Washington: The figure sustains evidence of repainting on the top of his head. There are various spots of pigment loss to the scarf, the buttons of the jacket, and the reverse of the jacket. These spots range in size from 1/8" to 1/2". The figure also sustains a light craquelure throughout and a number of darkened pigment spots under the glaze on its underside. Jefferson: The figure sustains a craquelure throughout. There are approximately five 1/4" spots of pigment discoloration or loss to the face. The right hand sustains two chips to the glaze. There are also two chips to the glaze next to the left hand. There are various pin tip sized holes on the reverse of the figure, original to the creation process.
