Description
American, late 19th century. Victorian art glass cranberry to opalescent brides bowl, in the manner of Mt. Washington or Thomas Webb, the crimped and ruffled rim fluorescing bright green under ultraviolet light (responding to uranium content) and decorated with gilt stringing and orange to yellow leafy scroll work and beads, the center with stylized flowerhead. The back with polished pontil. Approximate height 3.25", diameter of bowl 11". Provenance: From the Estate of Mary L. Haugk, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
