Description

Traditional Chinese Huanghuali Suanpan Abacus Length 14.5" Width 7" Height 1"Footnote Chinese Suanpan abacus dated to the 19th century. These counting frames were known back in the IndoChinese region as early as 1100 BC. The traditional abacus consists of a combination of five beads on the lower and two beads on the upper. Each of the lower beads carries a value of one, each of the upper beads carries a value of five. It is known that this ‘zhusuan’ technique from this ‘suanpan’ abacus instrument can solve complex arithmetic.
