Two naturalistic floral embroideries, late 18th century, one on silk ground, finely worked to imitate brocaded silk, c.1760; the other chain-stitched wool on a drabbet ground, c.1770-80, approx 46x36cm,18x14in, 23x18cm, 9x7in (2) Provenance: The late Harry Matthews collection
Condition
• Both good condition
• Chair panel (imitated brocaded silk) - Good colours, very faint soil line down an old fold line, but not obvious. Old crease line at bottom left corner and slightly soiled at edges on both corners.
• Crewel embroidery- good condition, very slight wear to embroidery in a couple of places.
