An embroidered summer gauze dragon robe, jifu, circa 1900, the dark blue ground with black borders and striped sleeves, embroidered in small yellow running stitches with dragons, clouds, bats, lushui hem, neck to hem 136cm, 53in long

Robe was shortened by folding over at the waist and then let down again but there are crease marks, repairs at front right chest area. Slight thinning centre front chest area, a couple of damp stains at hem, slight wear and breaks near hem. 2 small holes below large centre back dragon. Stain and thinning along crease line right shoulder. Stain and thinning along crease line left shoulder and sleeve.
