Description

The list of unknown Missouri charters is now one fewer now that this Jefferson City ace has been located. While the condition could be better, this is still the best and only note on the bank. The National Exchange Bank of Jefferson City was opened in 1872 and closed in 1879. It issued ones, twos, and fives only. It comes as no surprise that notes are as rare as they are. PCGS notes minor restoration; we believe that to be the result of a few closed pinholes. As with any first charter only bank - waiting for the next one will likely be a long fruitless journey.
