Description
FRENCH JAPY FRERES THREE-PIECE MANTLE CLOCK GARNITURE SET WITH WOOD STANDS, comprising a Louis XVI-style gilt-metal mounted clock with Sevres-style porcelain mounts, and a pair of matching lidded urns en suite, with three carved fabric-covered gilt-wood stands. The clockworks with circular "JAPY FRERES Medaille d'Honneur" pastille impressed with star above a ribbon centering a button, below the numeral 3 to back and with serial number 17603. The case reverse marked "11 P. H. MOUREY 78" to lower center. The wood stand for the clock with brass plaque inscribed, "To/ David G. Worth /from / Mrs. Elizabeth R. Summey / A token of his appreciation of his / friendship and kindness as her / Guardian". Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 17 1/2" HOA, the clock. 18 7/8" HOA on stand.

Condition
Very good condition. Unknown running condition. Repair to door hinge on clock reverse. One vase with cracks to lower porcelain section of urn. Wear to gilding. Wood stands are original, and some of the gilt-wood detailing is dry and crumbly, with attendant losses and original fabric is fraying in some places.
