Italian (likely Venetian), 19th century. A heavily carved gilt armchair in the Italianate version of the Louis XV style, the intricately carved circular backs with central carved musical instrument bag and roses, upholstered at back, seat, and arms in gold and dark blue brocade upholstery with classical and vegetal motifs and brass nailhead trim, the arms terminating in ram's head supports with curved carved stiles over a carved seat rail with squared knee blocks over scrolled cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet on sabots. Approximate height 43", width 28", depth 24", seat to floor 17".
