Description
Chinese, late 9th/early 10th century. Chinese glazed ewer, potted with a flared mouth, tapering cylindrical neck over an ovoid body and a tapering spout leading from the shoulder. The thin glaze stopping unevenly well above the flat splayed base exposing the buff biscuit fire red in places. Ewer is presented with custom box. Approximate height 6.8". Note: A similar ewer is found on plates 20 and 22 of the 'Oriental Ceramics Found in the Phillipines' by Leandro and Celia Locsin.
