Description

Vellum glaze plaque with a scene of sailboats moored in the Venice harbor, the work of Carl Schmidt in 1921 who added his signature in white slip to the lower right corner. Impressed on the back with the Rookwood logo and date. There is an original label on the frame with the title "Quiet Reflections. C. Schmidt". There is also a Schulman Collection sticker. Plaque size is 7 7/8 inches by 4 7/8 inches framed to 11 1/2 inches by 8 5/8 inches. There is overall crazing.
