Description
A 9 3/4" x 15 1/4" Donmar Studio frame encasing flies by Elsie Darbee (Royal Coachman), Rube Cross (Palmer Ginger - Quill Wing), Edward R. Hewitt Brown Bivisible) and George LaBranche (Pink Lady). In the center of the framing is an original illustration of a Connett Fly Box that was designed by Eugene V. Connett III. The illustration was most likely used in a magazine or book because of the paper used and the white marks in the drawing consistent for its use in this manner. An original clear Connett fly box is included in this offering. Connett's box according to Ray Bergman in his book, Trout 1938 was the first American clear fly box. All of the flies come with authentication from Ted Niemeyer on his card, with the exception of the LaBranche fly that comes with his signature, fly pattern and date written on a small slip of paper. All authentication affixed to back of frame. Excellent condition.
