Description
KPM quality, hand painted, antique porcelain plaque after the 1536 oil on canvas portrait by Titian (1490 - 1576, Italy) titled, "la Bella".
The image depicts an Italian woman in a blue and deep red Renaissance gown with slashed sleeves. She wears a long necklace and jeweled earrings. Paper label on verso, plaque 7.125"h x 5.25"w is housed in a gilded metal frame with shell and foliage motifs measuring 14"h x 11.5w".
This item included a provenance note, the original has disintegrated, we have included a copy of the original paper and transcribe it here: "Property of Charles Ludlow Lum Ogdensburg, New York Born 10/24/1817 Died Nov. 12-1882 My Paternal Grand Father. The only ancestral relic I possess C.J.Lum. Phila. Oct 26 - 1913.Condition
Free of chips cracks and restoration but with old glue remnants on the back.
