Description
An Egyptian faience beaded necklace with blue glazed baboon amulet. The amulet of a baboon, Graeco-Roman, c. 2nd Century BC/AD, represents the god Thoth and is well-preserved with brilliant turquoise blue glaze. L: 2 1/8 in (5.4 cm). The amulet is suspended on a necklace composed from Egyptian faience disk and tube beads, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, as well as a lotus flower bead from the same period as well as a yellow and black faience 'eye of Horus' amulet from the 3rd Intermediate Period, c. 1075 - 664 BC, with nice color and style. L: 29 1/8 in (73.9cm). Ex Detroit private collection.
