Herend of Hungary - Six Assorted Porcelain Boxes. In the Rothschild Bird, Queen Victoria patterns, one with cat on lid, one in heart shape, two with reticulated floral design. Marked on bottoms. Largest measures 3.75inches. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory is a Hungarian company of luxury hand painted and gilded porcelains. Founded in 1826, it is based in the town of Herend. In the mid-19th century it was purveyor to the HapsburgMonarchy and aristocratic customers throughout Europe.The Vienna Exhibition in 1845, the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, the Exhibition of All Nations in New York in 1853, and the Exposition Universelle inParis in 1855, led to the popularization of the porcelain worldwide and multiple awards. Also European member of distinctive Comit Colbert, French luxury houses and institutions.
