Blue and white was the most popular Peking color combination and here it is manifested in a mid blue scatter rug with a two phoenix open round medallion.
The light brown and ivory corners are rocky outcrops.The ivory border of precious objects ( vase,knot,ceremonial vessel,fish pendant ) is developed only along
the sides.At the ends a three toned version of the rainbow wave border appears,topped with a row of cloud knots.There are several blues:a midnight blue,a deep
blue,and an abrashed middle blue for the field.The light brown has deeply corroded.Both light ivory and a slightly deeper beige are subtly utilized together
without separating outlines.The wave pattern often appears on Chinese pillar rugs and it is far less common on smaller,especially Peking scatter rugs.

Unrestored with deep corrosion to the light brown in the corners.
