Barraud‘s of Cornhill –19th century London clockmakers family, Paul Philip Barraud was Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1810 & 1811.
Rear board finely engraved and signed “Barraud’s Cornhill London”; dial signed “Barraud‘s Cornhill London” and numbered “202” (Early number!)
Square, engraved floral 8-day brass mechanism, spring driven, escapement
Hourly bell chime, pendulum suspension, brass pendulum with large pendulum bob
White dial, Roman hour indices, outer minute ring, gold-colored hands
Side dials for deactivating the chime
Richly carved wooden body, double-glazed, on four pressed ball feet, tall rectangular shape with bow-shaped top
Elegant carving work on all sides, including twisted columns, ribbon work, acanthus leaves, decorative frieze and diamond motifs
Sides covered with textile, sound holes, brass handle
With crank key and transport lock
Overall dimensions: around 43 x 35 x 23 cm

Condition:
The bracket clock is in good, age-related condition. The wood displays partially natural tension cracks and abrasion and several knocks. A wooden strip on the reverse is loose. The lock on the front door of the body does not close properly. The reverse of the glass has a small scratch. During the short test, the clock was fully functioning; no guarantee on accuracy and longevity. The body measures around 43 x 35 x 23 cm.
