Solvins was a Flemish painter who traveled to Calcutta in 1791. He is considered a pioneer in print making in India. He created a visual portrait of Calcutta in the late 18th century by producing 250 etchings from watercolor paintings he executed of places, individual portraits, and daily life. Size 16" x 12".
