Description
Latin America, Mexico, Sayula, Jalisco state, ca. 19th century CE. A classic woman's garter dagger, with a short, hand-carved wooden handle (some wire wrapped around the juncture with blade), a steel blade with a fierce scorpion tip, and a dark brown leather sheath. Quite the weapon for quite the bold lady (possibly a 'lady of the evening') who would have kept this small, light weight dagger in her gartered stockings for protection! Size: 5-3/4"L (14.6 cm); 6"L (15.2 cm).
