PRESIDENT WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON DOCUMENT, MARCH 23, 1841 H 14", W 8":Document dated 3-23-1841 to authorize and direct the Secretary of State to affix the seal of the United States to the commission of one hundred dollars. In the case of the United States against James H. Birch. Harrison who was the first president to die in office, was only in office 32 days from March 4, 1841 - April 4, 1841. This is one of very few official presidential documents signed by President Harrison in that one month period. Purchased 12-5-1997 Christies Inc. Lot No. 55. Framed in red folio leather.
