The necklace features graduated round-cut peridot weighing a total of approximately 25.00 carats, enhanced by round-cut rubies weighing a total of approximately 1.80 carats, set in 18k gold, with an applied plaque marked Successori Marchesini. Gross weight 57.20 grams.

*According to the Annuario Commerciale e Industriale for Florence of 1869, the firm of Niccola Marchesini, had shops at 9 via de Tornabuoni and 8-9 Ponte Vecchio. The Murray Guides to Rome record them as 'Court Jewellers' at 138 Corso in 1875 and they were still flourishing in 1900.Â
