A pair of unusual Chinese Huali wood armchairs in 'simple and elegant' style, with vertical back, caned seat, and the splat carved with auspicious Lingzhi scrolls, 19th century, late Qing Dynasty, in overall good condition with no missing and replaced parts, age cracks to one carved panel on back splat, minor joint gaps and limited restoration, from an Upper East Side collection, 21 1/4" wide, 16 3/4" deep, 18 1/2" high (seat); 35 3/4" high (overall)
