Description
Greek Empire, Corinth, ca. late 7th to ealry 6th century BCE. Very rare archaic pottery female head showing wide open eyes, arched eyebrows and carefully painted ears and hair. The skin itself was embellished with added pale ochre. Custom stand. Size: 1-5/8" (4.2 cm) high.
Provenance: Ex- M. Reiniger estate, Chicago, IL, acquired from Ostracon Gallery, Switzerland, ex Gassner collection, Cologne, Germany
