1852 Court document State of Alabama, Talladega, describing settlement of debt. property slaves are to be sold on the court house steps. Being sold with original advertisement for the sale dated April 1, 1854. "...Will sell to the highest bidder before the courthouse door in the town of Talladega on the first Monday in May next, a likely Negro girl aged about 19 years and her child a smart active boy about 4 years old, the property of Sarah Bowdon...". This contains very detailed information and the public notice really brings closure to the settlement. Condition - some discoloration otherwise legible.
